Arlington, Texas, artist and graphic designer Gary L. Grayson, after enjoying significant success for over 30 years in commercial graphics arts and design, is now taking his considerable talents in a fresh direction. As a graduate of the Art & Art History department at the University of Texas at Arlington, Gary was, and continues to be, mentored by the legendary illustrator Don Punchatz. Gary’s career in the graphic arts has taken him from Texas to the advertising mecca of New York City, and ultimately back to Texas. His client list reads like a “Who’s Who” of commercial giants such as AT&T, IBM, Gillette, Timex, and Citibank. Gary’s new collection of “pop-art” styled prints is just the latest in a long line of art prints that he has produced throughout his career. This original and imaginative output ranges from stylish recreations of classic European posters to spectacular eye-popping re-interpretations of classic photographs of cultural icons, and tongue-in-cheek homages to other pop-art luminaries such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
